01 Core Principle

Nothing Is Collected

Memory Palace does not collect, transmit or share any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.

The app is a tool for building memory palaces on real streets. What you build is yours, and it never leaves your iPhone unless you send it somewhere yourself.

02 Your Content

Everything Stays On Your Device

Your palaces, their stations, the places you pin, your notes, your review history and any photos you attach are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's own storage.

If you make a backup from inside the app, that file is written wherever you choose to put it. If you share a palace with someone, that file goes wherever you send it. Neither ever passes through us, because there is no server to pass through.

03 Maps

Apple Maps And Look Around

The app shows maps and street-level imagery using Apple's own MapKit framework. When it draws a map, searches for a place, works out a walking route or opens Look Around, that request goes to Apple and is handled under Apple's privacy policy. It carries no account or identity of yours, because the app has none to send.

If you allow it, the app can centre the map on your location while you are using it. That location is used on the device for that purpose and is not recorded, stored or sent anywhere by us. You can refuse, and the app still works.

04 The Library

Ready-Made Palaces

The Library tab reads a list of ready-made palaces from a static web page and downloads the ones you choose. The app only reads; nothing is ever uploaded, and the request contains nothing about you beyond what any web request needs in order to be answered.

05 Photos And Camera

Only What You Pick

You can attach one photo to a station, either from your photo library or taken with the camera. The app reads a photo only when you choose it, and the camera only when you open it. Photos stay on your device, and the app does not read your photo library in any other way.

06 Updates

Changes To This Policy

Any change to this policy will be posted on this page. The app will not begin collecting data without your explicit consent, and the principle above is not one we intend to change.
